oops.

Ok so it's pretty much the next weekend and I still haven't updated :)

here's my update!

Ok, first of all, the Green Festival...

It was great! What we did wasn't so much fun, mind you, but the festival itself was so interesting. But I'm getting ahead of myself.

Upon arrival, we headed to get registered and get our Green Festival Staff T-shirts (which was really cool) and then Clean Freak, Froggie, and I were assigned our own station. There was four bins there which were labeled Paper, Compost, Recycle, and Landfill. We were responsible for telling people which bin to throw things into. One of the cool things we saw there was that all the little plastic cups they had samples in were actually compostable. I know, plastic is compostable?!?!?! Since when?? Well since they're made out of corn and sugar cane. So they're compostable. It was really cool--you could barely tell except for the fact that they had a slightly different texture. We took turns taking individual breaks so that we could walk around the festival and check out all the booths. (It was indoor at the Conference Center in Chinatown.) So it was fun seeing all the booths with all the "green" things you could imagine--including elephant dung paper crafts, organic cotton clothing, recycled sailcloth bags, "green" movers, etc etc. So it was a learning experience.

After the festival closed, we all gathered up all the bags from the bins and brought them to the back and sorted through the trash. Some people had thrown things into the wrong bin so we had to re-sort everything to make sure the right stuff went to the right place. There was a U-Haul sized truck for the compost trash bags, another truck for the paper materials, a huge bin for the recycables, and I don't know where the trash went. But there was so many things that went into the compost, paper, and recyclables areas. I couldn't believe how little was thrown away. Makes me happier to see that people are doing something about saving the Earth.

Anyway, after that, us girls had a wine and cheese party. It was a lot of fun because it was just us girls (at first) and we shared wine and cheese and played games and had all around fun. We dressed up and wore heels and things like that. Then some boys crashed our party (:P) but it was still a great day/night for me.

So what else is new?

Oh yes, my boyfriend broke up with me.

I don't wanna go into the details here so I'll just say he needed some space and leave it at that. Yes, I'm okay (not 100% but you get the gist) but yeah...it's hard for me right now.

So...as for homework, I'm pretty much caught up in all the classes except for one, but I plan to spend THIS weekend just focusing on that one homework/paper. Wish me luck once again :)
