Stupid @*#)(% "help" at Sprint.

(I apologize in advance for this super-long blog, but I needed to vent.)

Ok, so the supposedly "customer service" at Sprint ended up wasting 40 minutes of my life.

40 fricking minutes. (pardon my french.)

here's some of the actual conversation.

"WHAT S THE REASON FOR THE CALL Q GA

"I am unable to access my account online ga

WHAT IS THE REASON Q GA

i dont know, i had an account number that i entered and it said that the number is invalid so i called you and they said that the number was wrong so they gave me a new number and it still says invalid ga

PLEASE TRY TO REREGISTER FOR AN ONLINE ACCOUNT GA

How do I do that ga

GO TO SPRINT DOT COME WHERE YOU XXX

No i don't mean my login with the sprint account, i mean the account that i pay my bill with ga

THAT WOULD BE THE ONLINE ACCOUNT YOU WOULD BE ABLE TO PAY YOUR BILLS ONLINE GA

that's right, i have to add the account to my profile online correct? ga

THAT IS CORRECT GA

and my point is that when i try to add the account it says the number is invalid ga

UM ARE YOU REFERRING TO YOUR SPRINT ACCOUNT NUMBER OR YOUR BANK ACCOUNT NUMBERS Q GA

LET ME GIVE YOU YOUR ACCOUNT NUMBER AND TRY IF THIS WORKS THE ACCOUNT NUMBER IS XXX XXX XXX GA

Yes ga (What, do you think I would make up a new account number just for the heck of it??)

It says account number is invalid (um, DUH!) ga

WHAT EXACTLY ARE YOU TRYING TO DO Q GA

I am trying to add my sprint account to my profile so that i can pay my bill online ga

ONE MOMENT LET ME CHECK GA

ALL RIGHT PLEASE ASK THE CUSTOMER DO YOU HAVE AN ONLINE ACCOUNT ALREADY OR ARE YOU STILL TRYING TO SET UP A NEW ONE Q GA

yes as i said earlier i already have my online profile ga

BUT IF YOU ALREADY HAVE ONE ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS ENTER YOUR USER NAME AND PASSWORD THE ACCOUNT NUMBER WOULD NOT BE USED ANY MORE ONCE YOU ENTER YOUR USER NAME AND PASSWORD IT WILL BRING YOU TO YOUR ONLINE ACCOUNT AND I COULD GIVE YOU THE INSTRUCTIONS IN HOW TO MAKE A PAYMENT 9NCE YOU RE ON YOUR ONLINE ACCOUNT GA

Yes, I am online on my online profile, i see my pager and data plan, when i click make a payment, it says enter account number, and that is where it is saying account number is invalid ga

THAT WOULD BE YOUR BANK ACCOUNT NUMBER GA

NO PROBLEM TELL ME IF YOU ENCOUNTER ANY PROBLEMS AFTER GA

it still says invalid. the instructions says to enter the account number that i manage, what number is that? ga

no i can't even get into my account to make an payment! ga

YOU GO TO SPRINT DOT COM ONCE YOU RE ON THE HOME PAGE ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE PAGE THERE IS A SPACE FOR YOU TO ENTER YOUR USER NAME AND PASSWORD FILL OUT THE INFORMATION AND CLICK ON GO GA

yes i have already done that ga

DO YOU SEE SHOP MY SPRINT DIGITAL LOUNGE AND SUPPORT ON TOP OF THE PAGE Q GA

Yes ga

PLEASE CLICK ON MY SPRINT GA

Ok ga

THEN GO TO OVERVIEW GA

Ok ga

LOOK FOR BILLING AND PAYMENT AND THEN RIGHT BELOW THAT IS A PAY NOW BUTTON THAT YOU WOULD HAVE TO CLICK GA

There is no billing and payment ga

TRY BILLING AND PAYMENT UNDER MY SPRINT GA

(didn't I just say there's no billing and payment?) there's only overview, phones and plans, settings and passwords, and my online tools ga

THAT S ODD IT S SUPPOSED TO HAVE BILLING AND PAYMENT LET ME PUT YOU ON HOLD FOR A COUPLE OF MINUTES AND CHECK WHY YOU DON T HAVE THAT ON YOUR ACCOUNT GA

perhaps it is because i have not added my sprint account because it keeps saying it is invalid ga"

So the conversation went back and forth like that for 40 minutes (FORTY @^$&#!~ MINUTES) until I tried the account number without spaces.

It worked.

WHY DID THE WOMAN GIVE ME THE ACCOUNT NUMBER WITH SPACES IF IT WASN'T SUPPOSED TO HAVE SPACES??????

ok, I'm gonna go and hit my pillow to get rid of my aggravation.

  1. Grins. Welcome to the horror world of technical support, full of nitpoops, peabrains, and all. But there is one tech support that is truly champs, one-of-a-kind, and all -- The Technology Center at Indiana Deaf School ;-D

    I have spent many many hours with TMobile and Sprint tech support, and its not always about my own pager, but for yours as well. Now you undy why I make faces when you go "my pager isnt working" and when I say "YOU call tech support!".
